Bathurst - Roland Basque, 54, of Kent Lodge, Beresford, passed away on Tuesday (February 27, 2007), at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Tracadie, he was the son of Georgette (LeBreton) Basque and the late Alyre Basque. Besides his mother Georgette Basque (Gabriel Paulin) of Caraquet, and his wife, Diane ((Bégin) Basque, he is survived by: One son : Maurice Basque of Beresford One daughter : Michelle Basque of Beresford Eight brothers : Gilles (Claudette) Basque of Inkerman, NB Jean-Guy (Marie-Blanche Roy) of Beresford, NB Robert Basque et Denis Basque of Bathurst Serge Basque of Saint Quentin. Ronald (Claudine) Basque of Petit Rocher. Rév Père Mario Basque of Drumheller, AB Alvin (Alexandra) of Montréal, PQ Six sisters: Nicole, Colette and Sylvie (Jean Louis Pitre) Basque of Bathurst. Chantal (Earl Rivers) of Pokemouche Claudine (Jacques Boucher) of Beresford Gisèle (Albert Allaire) of St-Raymond, QC One granddaughter; Molly Renée and one step-grandson; Reilley. He was the owner/operator of Atlantic Home Improvements and North Coast Roofing. Roland was a member of UCT Council #827, Bathurst and past president of the Kinsman Club, Bathurst. The body is resting at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday (March 2, 2007) at 4 :00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time of Funeral.
