Bathurst - Claude Blanchard, 79, of Hillside Ave, Bathurst, and formerly of Caraquet, passed away on Thursday (March 1, 2007), at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Caraquet, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna (Poirier) Blanchard. He worked as a Salesman for most of his life. Member of the Bathurst U.C.T. Council 827 and 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1935. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his wife, Maria (Bertin) Blanchard, he is survived by: One son: Daniel Blanchard of Montreal, PQ One daughter: Nicole Vienneau (Michel) of Chamberlain Settlement, NB Several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers; Vital, Daniel, and a sister; Edith. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (March 5, 2007) at 2:00 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
