Bathurst - Mrs. Bernadette "Betty" Christie, 76, wife of Vincent Christie, of Landry Lane, passed away on Sunday (May 13, 2007) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Irene (Marcoux) Doucet. She was a member of the Ladies Auxilary of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. Besides her husband, she is survived by: Four children: Connie Dugas (late John) Gary Christie and Norma Christie (Albert Vienneau) all of Bathurst Michael Christie of Truro, NS Three sisters: Cecile Doucet of Saint John, NB Norma Auger (Maurice) of Bathurst Jeannette Guerette (Mike) of Bathurst Daughter-in-law: Pierrette Lavigne of Bathurst 5 grandchildren; Tanya, René, Jeffery, Rickie, Tyler, 3 great-grandchildren; Miguel, Dylan and Nathaniel, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son; Richard, brothers; Antoine "Tony", Roland and sisters, Dorothy "Dot" and Carmel. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday (May 16, 2007) at 4:00 p.m. from St. Theresa Church, South Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, South Bathurst.
