Bathurst - Sister Thérèse Plourde, 87, of the “Maison Notre-Dame de l’Assomption”, Bathurst, passed away Monday (May 14, 2007) at the infirmary of the “Religieuses Hospitalière de Saint-Joseph”, Bathust, after 65 years, 8 months and 6 days in the religious profession.
Born in Edmundston, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anne-Marie (Levesque) Plourde.
Before her entry into the "Hospitalières de Saint-Joseph", she completed normal school in Fredericton in 1939. After her religious studies, in 1941, she worked in the laboratory, director of the cafeteria and taught at the Nursing School at the Hotel-Dieu Hospital in Campbellton. She was very helpful in many levels of her congregation including; local superior and provincial superior, archivist, teacher to the novices and was responsible for the curriculum.

She was pre-deceased by 3 brothers; Aldéo Clarence, Uldoric Alex, Gérard, 2 sisters; Fernande and Gertrude.
The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the "Maison Notre-Dame de l'Assomption", 2144 Vallée Lourdes Dr., Bathurst. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (May 16, 2007) at 4:00 p.m. from their Chapel.
