Halifax, NS - The death of Miss Beverly (Marie Anne) Roy, occurred Tuesday (December 9, 2003) in Halifax, NS, at Arborstone Enhanced Care Facility where she had resided for the past 5 years. She died after a lengthy illness at the age 67.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Arthur P. and Hilda (Lavigne) Roy.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
She was pre-deceased by 3 brothers; Arthur Jr., Vernon, Adolphus, and 2 sisters; Gladys Gough and Mildred Buckley.
While living in Bathurst, Bev was an employee of the Federal Government and an active member of the Bathurst Curling Club. For the past 30 years, she resided in Halifax, NS.
She is survived by her nephews, Gordon Roy (Charlene) of Bathurst and their family; Jason, Trevor and Kim. Also nephews Peter Roy of St. John, Peter Gough of Halifax, and 2 nieces; Janice (Gough) Heraugh of P.A. USA, and Susan Buckley of NY, USA.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday afternoon (December 20, 2003) at 1:30 p.m. from St. Theresa Church, South Bathurst. www.elhatton.com For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the M.S.
