Bathurst - Mrs. Irene 'Dick' Ferris, 88, of Carl Dr., Bathurst, wife of the late John Ferris, died Monday (January 26, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Senator C.J. Veniot and Marie (Leger) Veniot. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Women's League, Bathurst. Many years ago, she was involved with the Bathurst Figure Skating Club, the I.O.D.E and the Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club. She was pre-deceased by her husband, John Ferris, in 1995. She is survived by: 2 Sons: Michael Ferris and John Ferris (Keiren) both of Calgary, AB 2 Daughters: Judy Ferris of Bathurst Madeleine Ferris of Calgary, AB 1 Sister: Alberta Findlater of Fredericton 8 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister Corinne LeBlanc and a brother Dr. Maurice 'Pat' Veniot. The body is resting at Elhatton' Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday morning (January 28, 2004) at 11:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cathedral Cemetery, King Ave., later this spring.
