Beresford - Romeo Roussel, 84, of Kent Lodge St., Beresford, died Monday (February 16, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Tracadie, he was the son of the late John and Edith (Ferguson) Roussel.
He served in World War II, with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada and overseas. He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.
He worked at the former W.J. Kent & Co. as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement.
Besides his wife, the former Violette (Ouellette) Roussel, he is survived by:

Joanne Devereau (Donald) of Auburndale, Mass, USA
2 Brothers:
John Roussel (Jacqueline) and
Vincent Roussel (Elvina) both of Montreal
2 grandchildren; Kevin and Lee Anne
1 Great-granddaughter: Allie Faye.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a half sister; Hilda Hocquard and a half brother;
The body will rest after 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (February 19, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
A Legion service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
