Bathurst- Nelson Gillie, 93, of Robert L. Knowles Veteran Unit formerly of Pokeshaw, which occurred Friday (October 3, 2008) at Chaleur regional Hospital in Bathurst. Born in New Harbour, NS, he was the son of Beare's Gillie and Clara Belle Hodgins. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II, he is also a member of Herman J. Good VC Br. 18 Canadian Royal Legion. He enjoyed the wonderful staff and care he received at R.L. Knowles Veteran Wing during the last year and a half. By his request there will be no funeral. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst.
