Janeville - Robert Elvy Smith, 76, of Janeville, husband of Georgena (Ellis) Smith, died Saturday (February 28, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in Salmon, he was the son of the late Reginald and Mabel (McConnell) Smith. He worked for F.C. Hornibrook & Son Enterprises of Janeville for many years and was also a fisherman. Besides his wife, Georgena (Ellis) Smith, he is survived by: 1 Daughter: Vera Hachey (Louis) of Salmon Beach 1 Grandson, Robbie. 1 Sister: Annie Beattie of Nash Creek Many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by an infant son, one brother, Maurice; and one sister, Eleanor Forges. The body is resting at Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon (March 2, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Spruce Grove Union Cemetery, Bridge St., Bathurst, later in the spring.
