Daniel (Danny) MacDonald, of Bathurst NB, died peacefully Friday evening March 12, 2004 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst. He was 74 years of age. Danny was born in Glencoe Mills, Cape Breton Island NS, and was the son of the late John Alex and Elizabeth (MacEarchern) MacDonald. He was a miner for various mining contractors for 41 years, retiring in 1992. He was known for his dedication and work ethic which served him well his entire life. His family, especially his grandchildren were the love of his life. His retirement years were spent surrounded by his grandchildren and working in his woodshop. He is survived by his five children: Daniel of Banff, AB, David of Sudbury, ON, Greg (Lisa) of North Tetagouche NB, Bobby (Genevieve) of Charlotte North Carolina, Cindy Christie (Denis Young) of Bathurst, NB. Dear grandfather to Danielle, Nathaniel, Davey, Carly, Shelby, Corrie, Cameron and Terryn. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth MacNeil. Dear brother of Mary Jessie Walker of Sudbury ON and Hughie of Kingston ON. He was pre-deceased by sisters, Lena, Catherine “Kay”; and brothers, John, Archie, Duncan and Roger. A memorial service was held at Elhatton's Funeral Home in Bathurst on Monday March 15th, 2004 at 11:00 am.
