Big River - It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Shirley DeGrechie, of Big River, on Wednesday (September 23, 2009) at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, with her loving husband, Melvin DeGrechie, at her side. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Violet (Hickey) Stanger. Besides her loving husband, Melvin, she is survived by: Her only daughter: Cindy Barry (Kevin) of Cornwall, PEI One brother: Ralph Stanger (Carolyn) of Big River Loving grandchildren; Sarah, Ryan, niece and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held with Funeral Mass on Monday morning (September 28, 2009) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst. Donations may be made to the Lupus Association of New Brunswick or a favorite charity would be appreciated by the family.
