Gabie was a wonderful Mother and Mémère who taught her family how to enjoy the “simple pleasure’s” in life, the importance of little treats, to always do their best and that when the going gets tough to keep your chin up and keep smiling.
Gabie was happiest when she was around people. She always had a big smile and her magnetic personality drew them to her. She had a way of making everyone feel good and welcome in her home, she had a way of lifting your spirits.
Gabie loved to work or volunteer in the community. From Loundsbury’s, to her beloved O’Neil’s Fina/Petro Canada, to bookkeeping for community projects, for Sears, JR’s, to Bimbo Day Care. She took such pride in her involvement in the Kidney foundation fundraiser, in volunteering at the hospital, in helping in the kitchen at C.W.L. socials and in helping with the Canada Games. She cherished the memories of being a leader of Girl Guides and T.O.P.S.
Gabie enjoyed a good game of Scrabble, a sing-song, watching Sidney and the Penguins win, taking in a basketball or hockey game to cheer on her grand children, but most of all a visit, a cup of tea and a chat.
