Bathurst - Laurent Guignard, 73, of the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes and formerly of East Bathurst, died Thursday (April 1, 2004) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Henri and Ida (Vienneau) Guignard. He is survived by: Two sisters: Evangeline Leger (Joseph) of Bathurst Sr. Imelda Guignard, n.d.s.c, of Dieppe Four brothers: Gerard Guignard and Raoul Guignard, both of Bathurst Yvon Guignard (Joan) of Dunlop Jean-Claude Guignard (Francine) of Richibuctou, NB Several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Sr. Stella Guignard, n.d.s.c., and a brother, Patrice. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday, at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (April 5, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (Eglise Notre Dame du Mont Carmel), Rough Waters Dr., Bathurst.
