Big River - Mrs. Phyllis Turpin, 69, wife of Lucien Turpin, of Big River, passed away on Saturday (January 16, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of Carmelita (Arseneau) Pitre and the late William Pitre. She was a former employee of the Government of Canada. Besides her husband, Lucien, and her mother of Bathurst, she is survived by: Two step-children: Joanne Clement (Kevin) of Bathurst Jennifer Bujold (Ron) of Cornwall, PEI One brother: Gerry Pitre (Janet) of Bathurst 4 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Ralph Southern, a daughter Shelley Southern and a brother, Cyril Pitre. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (January 23, 2010) at 11 a.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emard Duguay officiating.
