Bathurst – Geoffrey Holland, 88, of Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (August 8, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Camberwell, England, he was the son of the late Dorothy Holland.
Geoffrey was a member of Lodge St. John, No. 27, F&AM of the Masonic Order, a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and a member St. George's Anglican Church, Bathurst.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Betty and his second Evelyn May (Turner) Holland.
He is survived by:
Three step-daughters:
Teresa (Lloyd) Goodmurphy of Shreiber, ON;
Flora (Christian) Mallet of Shippagan;
Bonita (Roland) Blanchard of Pokemouche;
Two step-sons:
Theophil (Ginette) Gionet;
Francis (Majella) Gionet, both of Shippagan;
11 step-grandchildren: Susan, Wayne, Ritchie, Justin, Rudy, Mylène, David, Nicolas, Francis, Yves and Luc.
7 step-great grandchildren and a godson; Anthony Parrish.
He had most recently had a visit from relatives here from England (Peter, Lesley and Sarah).
He was predeceased by other relatives in England.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at St. George's Anglican Church, King Ave. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Chaleur Regional Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst.
