Salmon Beach - Byron Lavigne, 71, of Salmon Beach, passed away on Tuesday (September 21, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after brief illness.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Frank and Victorine (Aubie) Lavigne.

He was a former employee of the City of Bathurst.

He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Huard) Lavigne.

Two daughters:  Cindy Lavigne of Salmon Beach, Kelly Huard (Vernon) of Bathurst.  Two sons;  Aaron of Fredericton, Franklin (Jeannette) of Moncton.  Two sisters; Evelyn Gionet of Bathurst, Viola Fisher of Bathurst.  4 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning (September 24, 2010) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst.  Donation in memory of Byron may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
