Bathurst - Mrs. Effie Gould, 83, wife of Wilfred Gould, formerly of Princess Dr., passed away on Tuesday (October 26, 2010) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, after a lengthy illness.
 
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Leo Thomas and Mary "Minnie" (Robichaud) Doucet.
 
She worked for NB Tel for 37 years, retiring in 1981 and was a member of the Pioneers of America.  She was a former member of the South Bathurst Catholic Women's League.
 
Besides her husband, she is survived by:  One son; Dale (Wendy) of Bathurst.  One brother; Thomas of Bathurst.  Three sisters; Shirley Thibodeau (Lloyd), Poppy Glazier (Ron) and Jean Maher (late Wesley) all of Bathurst.  3 grandchildren; Nicholas, Alexander, Jonathan, several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will start on Thursday afternoon after 2 p.m. at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday afternoon (October 29, 2010) at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Friday from noon until time of Funeral.  Donations in memory of Effie may be made to the Alzheimer`s Society or a favorite charity.
