LYNCH, William "Bill" James. With great sadness, the family of Bill Lynch of Bathurst, announces his passing on Tuesday (February 22, 2011) at the age of 78.
Born in Bathurst he was the son of the late Terrence and Helen (Doucet) Lynch.
Bill is survived by his wife, Della (Doucet), and his children: Janet (Doug Steeves), Karen (Dave Finley), Laura (Danny Corkum) and Andrew (Noelle Grosse); his sister Helen and brother-in-law Purdy Good, nieces Colleen Cormier (Renald) and Maureen Neumann (Mike) and their families, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews in the Doucet family. In addition to his parents, Bill was pre-deceased by a son-in-law Rory Kempster.
Bill was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. His family always came first for him, but he also greatly enjoyed gardening, his beloved greenhouses, puttering in his workshop, good food, a glass of red wine and his furry friend Elmo. For the past 28 years, he and Della have owned and operated Lynch's Greenhouses in Bathurst, and his greatest regret would be that he couldn't be there for this years season.
There will be no visitation or service at Bill's request.
The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent services provided by Extra-Mural (and with special thanks to Lynne) and the Red Cross. Donations in Bill's memory can be made to the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program (Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, Extra-Mural Program, 1750 Sunset Dr., Bathurst, NB E2A 4L7) the Red Cross or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
