The death of Clement R. Valcourt, 80, of South Tetagouche, husband of Corinne (Bernard) Valcourt occurred Saturday, 19 June 2004 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Bathurst he was the son of the late Euclide Valcourt and the late Helene Pitre.
He served in World War 2 with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry in Africa, Italy and Continental Europe. He was a member of the Herman J. Good V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion. He was a millwright by trade.
He is survived by his wife Corinne (Bernard) Valcourt. 6 daughters, Anita Levesque (Leo) of Ripon QC, Jeannine Valcourt of South Tetagouche, NB, Dolores Lavigne (Alphonse) of Bathurst, NB, Carol Ward (Clayton) of South Tetagouche, NB, Louise Valcourt (Kevin Tremblay) of LaPlante, NB, Cheryl Roy (Levi) of Honduras. 4 sons, Harry Valcourt of Toronto, ON, Jean-Marc of South Tetagouche, NB, Michel (Kelly) of Halifax, NS, Pierre of Toronto, ON. 4 sisters, Irene Lockhart of Toronto, ON, Monica Hickey (Owen) of Jacquet River, NB, Florida Fyke (Stan) of Oakville, ON, Vitalene Wethlaufer (Ken) of Toronto, ON. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Victoria Fitzgerald and Hedelene Norby.
There were no visitations at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass was celebrated from the Holy Family Church on Thursday 24 June 2004.
The members of the branch following Mass held a legion service. Interment was in the St. Mary Magdelene Roman Catholic cemetery in South Tetagouche.
