The death of Mrs. Kit (Katherine) Gauthier, 75, of Big River,NB, wife of the late Gervais Gauthier which occurred Monday 21 June 2004 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst. Born in South Tetagouche, NB she was the daughter of the late Guy & Muriel (Smith) (Smyth). She was predeceased by her husband Gervais Gauthier in 2001. She was a member of the South Tetagouche United Church. She pursued a lifelong interest in genealogy, enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking. Kit was a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all. She is survived by: Her daughter Debby Peters (Fred) of Vancouver, BC; a son David Gauthier (Eileen) of Saint John, NB a daughter Daria Armstrong (Neil) of Greenwood, NS. Six Grandchildren: Amanda and Aaron, Peters, Andrea and Justine Gauthier, Christiana and Graham Armstrong. One Great granddaughter: Jessica Peters. Also survived by two sisters: Myrtle Kirkpatrick of Morin Heights, Que. and Juanita Clark of Sarnia, Ont. The body rested at Elhatton Funeral Home, 187 St.George St. Bathurst. Members of the Ladies Auxillary of the Herman J. Good, Br 18 Held a service from the funeral on Wednesday evening. Funeral service was held from the South Tetagouche United Church on Thursday 24 June at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Keith Adams officiating followed with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
