Bathurst - Burnham Logan, 92, formerly of Cherry St., Bathurst, passed away on Wednesday (January 11, 2012) at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Bathurst.
Born in Caribou Gold Mines, N.S., he was the son of the late George and Mary Ellen (Worrell) Logan.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army with the 88th Anti Aircraft Unit out of Nova Scotia and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Bathurst. He owned and operated the former Logan Brother's Diamond Drilling and later worked at Brunswick Mines and Dresser Industries and was a member of C.M.I.
Besides his wife, Mary (Allen) Logan of Bathurst, he is survived by one son, Roy (Denise) of Calgary, Alta., four daughters: Dawn Yao (Peter) of Bathurst, Frances Morrison (Bruce), Brenda Malinowski (Derrick) and Ellen O'Neil (Chris), all of Fort McMurray, Alta., two brothers: John (Faye) of Upper Musquodoboit, N.S. and Clarence (Kaye) of Toronto, Ont., four sisters: Meta McCarthy of Winnipeg, Man., Erminie Morash of Nine Mile River, N.S., Dorothy Mosher (Roy) of Halifax, N.S. and Dawn Archibald (Lester) of Musquodoboit, N.S., sister-in-law, Louise Logan of Musquodoboit, N.S.
10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by brothers: Lewis, Gerald, Fred; sisters: Ruby, Shirley and Laura.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday (January 16, 2012) at 2 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a reception. Donations in memory of Burnham may be made to the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Alzheimer's Society or a favorite charity.
