Bathurst – Byron "Bud" Kenny, 85, of Little River Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Tuesday (February 14, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late James and Frances (Melanson) Kenny.

Byron "Bud" worked on the family farm all of his life.

He was predeceased by his wife, Doreen (Letourneau) Kenny in 2006.

He is survived by two sons: Dan Kenny (Susan Nichum) of Bathurst, Steven Kenny (Roz) of New Jersey, USA; two daughters: Anne Kenny Thompson (Lloyd) of Lynn Lake, Man., Karen O’Brien (Richard) of Bathurst; one brother, Paul Kenny (Tilly) of Bathurst; one sister, Joan Kenny of Georgia, USA.

Nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst on Thursday (February 16, 2012) from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from noon until time of Funeral.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday afternoon (February 17, 2012) at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, King Ave., Bathurst, with a reception to follow in the parish hall.

Donations in memory of Byron "Bud" may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
