Bathurst - Lawrence Chapman, 54, of Orser Dr., Bathurst, died Friday (October 1, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of William and Hilda (Chapman) Chapman. Following his studies in Halifax, he was a self-employed Chartered Account. He was a past board member of the V.O.N. and the Kinsman Club. He was very well known and respected in the community. Besides his parents of Amherst, NS, he is survived by his wife, the former Linda Godin His in-laws: Gerard & Geraldine Godin. One step-son: Ricky Vienneau (Celine) of Bathurst Two brothers: Sheldon Chapman (Susan) and Raymond Chapman (Dorothy), both of Amherst, NS One grandson, Gerry Vienneau, several nieces and nephews. Brothers-in-laws, Ronald Godin (Bonnie) and Albany Godin (Sandra). The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday (October 2, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
