Bathurst- Elmer Daley - 84, of Bridge St., Bathurst, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Cleveland and Florence (Smith) Daley. Elmer worked at Brunswick Mines until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the United Steelworkers and SOAR. His many hobbies included fishing, cutting wood and looking after the Daley farm in Stonehaven.
He is survived by his wife Frances "Fran" Glendenning.
Four sons: Gordon (Marielle) of Beresford; Glen (Joyce); Timmy (Tammy); Tommy all of Bathurst.
One daughter: Sally (Derek) Noseworthy of Bathurst;
Ten grandchildren: Dawn, Andrew, Amy-Sue, Erica, Adam, James Michael, Chris, Blake, Robbie and Danielle.
Four great grandchildren: East, Hunter, Maria and Connor.
One sister: Gertrude Scott of Toronto, ON;
Daughter in law Karen Daley of Bathurst.
He was predeceased by sisters Marion Glendenning and Lois Hills.
There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Elmer may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com).
