1936 - 2014

Miramichi Road, NB - Mrs. Mildred "Milly" Smith, 77, wife of Grant Smith, of Miramichi Road, passed away Friday (April 11, 2014) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Bedford and Edna (Sargeant) Peters.

Mildred was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.

Besides her husband, she is survived by five children:

Helen "Honey" Groslouis (Robert) of Lower Coverdale, NB, Carl (Glenda), Kenneth (Shirley), Bruce (Donna) and Kelly Branch (Barry) all of Bathurst.

10 grandchildren, 9 great-granddaughters.

Two brothers:  Elmer Peters (Jeannie) and Blair Peters (Betty) both of Bathurst.  Four sisters: Alma Thibeault of Petit-Rocher, Muriel Roy, Helen Hines (Clifford) and Shirley Duguay (Tommy) all of Bathurst.

Several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by brothers, Hazen, Sampson, Leonard, George, Allison, sisters, Marjorie, Ella and Carrie.

The body will rest after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon (April 15, 2014) at 2 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.  Donations in memory of Mildred may be made to the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit or a favorite charity.  The Ladies Auxiliary service will be held on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. from the Funeral Home.
