1926 – 2014

Bathurst - Vincent Christie, 88, formerly of Basin St., Bathurst, passed away on Thursday November 6, 2014 at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Guilliaume "William" and Adeline (Chiasson)Christie.

He was a veteran of World War Two and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, and was retired from the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Bernadette "Betty" (Doucet) Christie in 2007 and is survived by:

Four children:  Connie Dugas (late John), Gary Christie, Norma Christie (late Albert Vienneau) all of Bathurst and Michael Christie of Truro, NS

5 grandchildren; Tanya, René, Jeffery, Rickie, Tyler, 5 great-grandchildren; Miguel, Dylan, Nathaniel, Vincent and Maya.

Five brothers:  Leonard Christie (Marie Melanson), Raymond Christie (Blondine Comeau), Alban Christie (late Yvette Boucher), Lawrence Christie (Delima Poirier) and Emile Christie (Nicole) all of Bathurst.

Two sisters:  Mayda Wolfe (Ronald) of Saint John and Lorraine Doucet (late Ralph) of Bathurst.  Several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by a son; Richard, brothers, Gilbert, Kenneth, William, Allie, Aurèle and sisters, Albina, Dora, and Anita.

Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday November 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst.  Visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.  Donations in memory of Vincent may be made to the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit or a favorite charity.
