1932 - 2014

Bathurst - Mrs. Mary Rebecca Smith (Glendenning), 82, wife of the late John Smith, passed away on Thursday December 25, 2014, at the Manoir Brise de l'Oasis surrounded by heartfelt love and care.

Born in Bathurst, Mary was the daughter of the late Jasper and Bella (Good) Glendenning and is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, John, and brothers Harry and Norman.

Mary is survived by three sons:  Arthur of Ontario, Leeman (Blondine) of Bathurst and Allan (Melissa) of Ontario.  Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mary loved and enjoyed her family and friends.  She was a hard worker and excellent cook and had an amazing sense of humour.  Her outspoken personality will surely be missed.

Visitation will be held from Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held on Monday December 29, 2014, at 2 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the First United Church or a charity of choice.
