Chamberlain Settlement - It is with great sadness that we the family announce the death of Lucien Daigle, 78, formerly of Chamberlain Settlement, which occurred Sunday February 1, 2015 at Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of late Joseph and Yvonne (Chamberlain) Daigle.
He is survived by two sons: Doran Daigle of Bathurst and Conrad Daigle of Hamilton, Ont.
Two daughters-in-law: Cindy Daigle of Beresford and Carole Daigle of Lagacyville.
Four grandchildren: Terry, Bryan, Keri-Lee, Jason and ten great-grandchildren.
Also his long time companion, Aldegonde Daigle of Bathurst.
Six sisters: Emilia Duguay (late Wilfred), Jeannette Doucet (late Omer), Germaine Godin (Gerald), Dorothy Imough (Harold), Angela Landry (Valmond) and Yolande Doucet all of the Bathurst area.
Many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carmelle (Doucet) Daigle in 1996; three daughters: Sandra, Monique and Sylvie (1992) and two sons: Gary and Ronald (2012); three brothers: Benoit, Allain, Emile and one sister, Priscille.
He was a former employee of Smurfit Stone Container, until his retirement after 23 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed all that nature had to offer, hunting, fishing and 4 wheeling.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the staff at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes as well as the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital for all the care Lucien received. It’s greatly appreciated.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday February 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Lucien may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
