1949 - 2015
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mrs. Jean (Hauser) Doucet at the age of 66.
Jean passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 18, 2015 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C.
Born in Prince Rupert on February 3,1949, she was the daughter of the late Milton Hauser and the late Ruth (Scherk) Paterson.
She grew up in Terrace and Dawson Creek, B.C. Jean spent most of her married life in Bathurst, N.B. and had recently moved to Victoria, B.C.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Doucet of Bathurst, N.B. and her step-father, Jim Paterson of Dawson Creek, B.C.
Two brothers: George Hauser (wife Rosita) of Edmonton, Alta., and Paul Hauser of Sidney, B.C.; several nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Richard Doucet, and one brother, Lloyd Hauser.
Jean was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and had a passion for writing. Jean had a love of bears, she not only collected them but made her very own JEDA bears.
Her body is entrusted to the care of First Memorial Funeral Services Saanich, where she will be cremated. As per Jeans wishes, the family will hold a private celebration of her life at a date yet to be determined.
