Bathurst - Mrs. Pauline Rossignol, 60, of Bathurst, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, in the palliative care unit.
Born in Dalhousie, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Roland and Suzanne (Gagnon) Rossignol of Bathurst.
She is survived by two children: Steffan (Natasha) Loupelle and Christianne Loupelle, both of Montreal, Que., and her two grandchildren: Elise and Eveline Loupelle, whom she enjoyed tremendously.
She is also survived by one brother, Michel Rossignol of Moncton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, Pierre Rossignol.
Pauline enjoyed sports and was especially fond of curling. She was a very competitive curler, having competed at the provincial level. She spent a great deal of her winter evenings and weekends at the Bathurst Curling Club, playing a game she loved and even taking time to teach up-and-coming juniors, and also helped out with the Little rocks program.
Pauline was generous; while owning and operating Roly’s Dry Cleaners, she initiated the Coats for Kids program, which saw many people in need get warm coats for winter.
She was an extremely creative person and was a skilful knitter and quilter, who enjoyed crafts of all sorts. She was a graduate of HollandCollege’s Culinary Arts program and was an accomplished cook. Pauline was also an extremely gifted gardener, who took great joy in making things grow.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 am from HolyFamilyChurch, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Pauline may be made to the palliative care unit at ChaleurRegionalHospital, to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of your choice.
