Bathurst – It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Mrs. Cecile Marie Hachey, wife of the late Gerald Hachey, which occurred Saturday March 28, 2015 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, at the age of 98. Cecile, formerly of East Bathurst, had been a resident of the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes for close to 2 years.
Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Barrieau) Richard.
She is survived by one son, Michael Hachey.
One sister, Celine Rennie.
Several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one sister, Therese LeVasseur; two brothers: Edmund and Leo.
Cecile had been a seamstress for most of her life. She also was a former member of the Catholic Women’s League and was a volunteer for many organizations including the CNIB. She loved playing the piano and played the organ for the senior choir for funerals for many years. In her later years, she was an avid reader, preferring biographies and non fiction. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
Cecile’s last wonderful act was to donate her body to science.
