1919 – 2015

Bathurst – Jacques Asselin, 95, formerly of North Tetagouche and Montreal, passed away on Saturday April 11, 2015 at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Bathurst.

Born in Montreal, Que., he was the son of late Arthur and Alice (Martel) Asselin.

He was a veteran of World War II with the Royal Canadian Navy and a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.

He was predeceased by his wife, Léona (Dubé) Asselin in 2010.

He is survived by three sons: Michel (Debra Pitre-Asselin) of North Tetagouche, Daniel (Lucie Broullard) of Quebec, Que. and Jean-Claude of Montreal, Que.

One daughter, Joëlle Asselin of St-Hyacinthe, Que.

One brother, Roger Asselin (Jeannine) of Montreal, Que.

Seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

By request, there will be no visitation or funeral mass. 

Donations in memory of Jacques may be made to the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit or a charity of the donor’s choice.
