Bathurst - Herbert Hachey, 83, of Middle River, passed away on Saturday January 16, 2016 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, N.B.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Maurice and Louise (Lagacé) Hachey.
Besides his wife, Evangeline (Vienneau) Hachey, he is survived by five children: Dolly Hachey of Bathurst, Anne Hachey of Middle River, Ruby Hachey of Middle River, Edmond Hachey (Toni) of Innisfil, Ont. and Nancy Poirier (Mike) of Middle River.
Seventeen grandchildren: Stephanie (Christopher), Melissa, Sylvain, Annick (Roland), Vanessa, Josianne (Jesse), Tania, Samantha, Andre, Nathalie, Susie (Eric), Crystal, Max (Melissa), Danny, Tiffany (Jason), Catherine (John) and Zachary.
Seventeen great-grandchildren: Olivia, Dominik, Emma, Caleb, Denver, Valerie, Annabelle, Francis, Ariane, James, Tyler, Jessie, Gabriel, Brithanie, Melodie, Kamil and Kymiane.
One sister, Eva (Hachey) Savoie of Sudbury, Ont. and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by one daughter, Linda Hachey-Manning; one grand-daughter, Natasha Hachey; four brothers: William, Léo, Edmund, Leonard; and two sisters: Sarah and Geraldine.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton`s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning January 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst.
