1933 - 2016
Mr. Alvin Lavigne, husband of the late Lillian Miller Lavigne, of Bathurst passed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the age of 82.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Amos and Ida Lavigne.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna of Bathurst and his two sons: Gerard (Shirley) of Dalhousie and Timothy of Bathurst.
Three grandchildren: Manon Haché, Pascal Guindon and Haylee Lavigne. Three great grandchildren: Nico, Théo and Nadine.
Alvin was the owner operator of the Big Scoop and Corner Sundries. He then worked for Northumland Co-op Dairies until his retirement. He was a strong competitive curler vying for many provincial titles. He also enjoyed golfing at the Gowan Brae Golf Club and was proud to have achieved a hole-in-one. He volunteered at the Bathurst Curling Club as Head Icemaker for many years.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Wanda.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 2:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm at Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel (www.elhatton.com), St. George Street, Bathurst, NB.
Donations in memory of Alvin may be made to the charity or foundation of the donor’s choice.
