1925 - 2016

Bathurst - Mrs. Delima Roy, wife of the late Leo L. Roy, formerly of Ord Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Sunday June 12, 2016, at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst, at the age of 91.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Garrett) Doucet.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was the loving foster child of the late Frank and Elizabeth St-Pierre.

Our precious loving mother is survived by three daughters: Leona Doucet (Carl) of Victoria, BC, Marcella Losier (Emile) and Viola Bouchard (Dale) both of Bathurst.

Four sons: Gordon (late Jeannie Harper) of Quesnel, BC, Norman (Marie), Daniel (Lucy) and Larry (Carla) all of Bathurst.

Seventeen grandchildren: Michael, Randy, Patrick, Lisa, Shawn, Jayleen, Brian, Charlene, Kelly, Kevin, Darren, Melissa, Krista, Kristine, Cathleen, Samantha and Christopher; twenty six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A special nephew, Frank Simmons, who always kept in touch.

She was predeceased by three brothers: Guy, Raymond and Arthur; three sisters: Georgina, Edna and Kathleen.

She enjoyed making quilts for all her family and also love to knit mitts & socks.

Special "Thank You" to Dr. Wade who for many years took very good care of her; staff of the Hospital, 2nd floor E.; Quality and Unicare for their loving support.  A special "Thank You" to Nicole Moreau; care givers: Chantal Boudreau, Linda Ward and Adrienne Godin; to the Extra Mural nurses for their kindness.

For the past 7 months, she was at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de- Lourdes, where she was treated like a member of their family.  Thank you Dr. Nadeau for your kind words & understanding; to the staff for all the hugs & kisses.

By her request, there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon June 15, 2016, at 4 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. 

Donations in memory of Delima may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
