1929 – 2016
Bathurst – Elmer Lavigne, 87, formerly of South Bathurst, passed away on Sunday October 2, 2016, at the Villa Sormany in Robertville.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late William T. and Elizabeth (Duclos) Lavigne.
He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Wheten Assembly #0651, Bathurst and was a retired CNR worker.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Grace "Graziella" (McGrath) Lavigne.
He is survived by three children: Donald (Pauline Bolduc) of Bathurst, Muriel Lavigne of Ottawa, ON and Joanne Lavigne Boudreau (Ronny) of Ste Anne, Glou. Co.
Four grandchildren: Patrick, Marc, Erik, Elisha; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Leah Grace.
Two step grandsons: Pierre and Emmanuel Bolduc.
Four step great-grandchildren: Noah, Annabelle, Elyse and Noémie.
Four brothers: Maynard (Jessie), David (Pam Elliott), Tommy and Omer (Emma Savage) all of Bathurst.
One sister, Patrina Hoffman (Werner) of Montreal, QC.
Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Jean Marc; four brothers: Cletus, Norman, Edgar, Alvin; four sisters: Agnita, Robina, Gloria and Marjorie.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 7, 2016 at 4 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Elmer may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a favorite charity.
