Bathurst – It is with great sadness that we, the family wish to announce the passing of our father, Raymond David, 94, of Bathurst and formerly of Big River, passed away Thursday May 10, 2018 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in Ste-Marie-sur-Mer, he was the son of the late Theodore and Victoria (Guignard) David.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Gertrude (McGrath) David in 2013.
He is survived by his children: Leda Roy of Vancouver, BC, Edmond (Jeannette) Penticton, BC, Omer (Maria), Pauline David, Lillian David (Claude Vienneau), André (Nancy), Robert all of Bathurst, Paul (Annette) of Big River, Paulette Roy (Marcel) of Pointe-Verte, Nicole Simpson (Daryl) of Ontario, Theresa Boudreau (Dennis) of Lugar and Rick (Des) of Nova Scotia.
22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandson, many nieces and nephews.
He was the last living member of his immediate family.
Besides his wife, he was pre-deceased by two sons Ronald and Cyril.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Friday, May 11th, 2018 at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.
Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit of Chaleur Regional Hospital and of the Manoir Brise de l’Oasis.
