Len Lovegrove of Bathurst, NB, passed away on May 7, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmer's Hospital, Fredericton at the age of 77. Born in London, England on January 22, 1928, he was the son of George and Emma (Jones) Lovegrove.
Len is mourned by his wife of 52 years, Betty; and four children, Chris Lovegrove (Sylvie Roy) of Bathurst; Pamela Gonnason (Trevor) of Fredericton; Kim Schnarr (Jim) of Fredericton; and Michael Lovegrove (Terri Elhatton) of Fredericton. Len's pride and joy were his three granddaughters, Heather and Megan Gonnason of Fredericton, and Nika Lovegrove-Roy of Bathurst. He is also survived by a special niece, Debbie Cilles of Lennoxville, PQ.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Elsie, and her husband, Stuart Winter, of Toronto.
Len retired from the Noranda Group in 1986 and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He volunteered many hours with the CNIB, a cause that was close to his heart. His passion for singing and music was well known within the community. He was also an active Legion member for several years.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. George's Anglican Church with Rev. Rod Black officiating.
