Cecile DeGrasse, formerly of Princess Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Friday January 18, 2019 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 90.
Born in Trois Rivieres, Que., she was the daughter of the late Donat and late Agnes (Frenette) DeGrasse.
She owned and operated the former Cecile’s Sundries on Riverside Dr. for many years. Cecile was a founding officer of the Holy Family Club 200 and served continuously for 30 years. In 2016 she was voted zone and provincial member of the year for New Brunswick.
She is survived by three sisters: Regina Boudreau (late Lawrence), Louise Heckbert (Paul) and Denise Hachey (late George).
One sister-in-law, Jeannine DeGrasse and one brother-in-law, Austin Sullivan
As well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
She was pre-deceased by three sisters: Clarisse, Jeannine, Alice and a brother, Charles.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday February 1, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Church, Bathurst.
