It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond McCarthy announce his passing on June 14, 2020.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Joan (Duguay), his son and daughter-in-law, James and Amy (Devereaux), as well as his sister, Phyllis Hudon (wife of John), and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. But, most sadly, “Pops” will be missed terribly by his wonderful grandchildren, Jimmy, Charlie, and Kate.
He was predeceased by his parents, Claudia and James McCarthy, and his brothers, Allie and Gordon.
Raymond grew up in Salmon Beach and lived his whole life in the Bathurst area. His talents were many, whether it was during his years in the car business and being self employed, or building anything you wanted with just materials and an axe. He succeeded at whatever he attempted. But, to his family and those who knew him well, his humour and affection will be what is remembered most and missed deeply.
The family would like to give their profound thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Chaleur Regional Hospital and the Georges Dumont Hospital, most especially to Dr. Monique Larocque in Bathurst, and Dr. Remi Leblanc in Moncton.
At Raymond’s request, there will be no service or visitation.
ARrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
