Chamberlains Settlement, NB - Alcide Roy, 71, of Chamberlain Settlement, passed away on Thursday September 30, 2021, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Elden and Bernadette (Legacé) Roy.
He is survived by his spouse, Cathy Couture.
Two sons, Ronald (Melissa Frenette) of Bathurst and Bruce of Windsor, ON.
Cathy’s children: Danny Couture and Randy Couture.
Five brothers, Robert, Lionel, Roland and André all of Bathurst and Alfred (Carol) of Oshawa, ON.
Four sisters, Marie Haché, Yvette Comeau both of Bathurst, Thérèse Roy (Yvon Levac) of Beresford and Rosaline Roy (Ronald) of Ste. Louise.
The mother of his children, Eileen (Henry) Lavigne of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses of the Chaleur Regional Hospital who cared for him and a special thank you to his in-house care workers, Susan Lavigne and Louise Lavigne.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 5, 2021, at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Alcide may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
