It is with sadness, that we, the family announce the passing of Mr. Alfred (Freddie) Roy, husband of the late Elizabeth (Chamberlain) Roy of Bathurst, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 at the age of 84.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Wilfred Roy and the late Loretta (Caissie) Roy.

He is survived by his children: Michel Roy, Lina LeBouthillier (Charles Lavigne) both of Bathurst, Bonnie Frenette (Paul) of Dieppe, Anne-Marie Legacy (Bobby) of Pointe-Verte, Edgar Roy (Gail McKenzie), Shirley Gallant (Jean-Claude), Richard Roy (Doris Doiron) all of Bathurst and Gérald Roy (Gail Boucher) of Beresford.

He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Brothers and sisters: Arthur Roy (Denise) of Bathurst, Patrick Roy (Clarice) of Caraquet, Edgar Roy (Evelyn) of Bathurst, Silas Roy of Robertville, Elizabeth (Edgar Lagacé) of Big River, Isabelle McLean, Sadie Hudon (Roger) and Rhoda Roy, all of Bathurst, and many nieces and nephews.

He is now resting with his wife, parents, two grandsons: Kevin and Rémi; brother, Guy; sisters: Alice and Alfreda (Freda).

Funeral Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Monday, March 6th, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.

In memory of Alfred, donations may be made to the Heart and stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association, SPCA or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Departments of the Chaleur Regional Hospital for the care given to Alfred.
