Mrs. Eda Simmons, 80, wife of the late Edmund Simmons, of Dumaresq St., Bathurst, passed away on Monday (January 16, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Caraquet, she was the daughter of the late André V. and Amanda (Mallioux) Gionet. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Edmund Simmons in 1994. She is survived by: Six sons: Ronald (Jill) of Calgary Robert of Prince George, BC Clinton (Judy), John and Wayne (Yvonne), all of Bathurst Dale (Dany) of Ontario 2 daughters: Linda (late Jean Robichaud) of Pokemouche Barbara Ann (Stephen Garrett) of Bathurst Two sisters: Georgette and Exilda, all of Caraquet Five brothers: Euclide of Boston Antonin, Emery, Benoit and Maurice, all of Caraquet 19 Grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Elmer in 2003, brothers, Leonie, Guillaume, Jean-Paul, Bermude, Claude, Anatole, sisters; Rosanna, Marianne, Murielle and Estella. The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday (January 20, 2005) at 2:00 p.m. from St. Theresa Church, South Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
