Bathurst- It is with great sadness the family of Jocelyne Roy, 67 of Bathurst, announces her passing on Sunday, August 20, 2023, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, with family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Yvonne (Lagacé) Pitre.
She is survived by her longtime partner Levis Hachey with whom she enjoyed many fishing trips over the decades.
She is survived by her daughter: Melanie Roy-Plommer (Joe) of Moncton.
Granddaughter: Cindy Roy (Alex Arseneault) of Moncton. A great-grandson Olivier and great-granddaughter: Evelyn.
Two brothers: Ronald Pitre (Suzanne Parent) of St. Anne’s and Cletus Pitre (Diane) of North Tetagouche.
Sisters: Anita Doucet (Leo), Patricia Morrison (Yvon Comeau), Noella Pitre, Yvette LaPlante (Daniel Roy) all of Petit-Rocher and Lorraine Pitre of Robertville.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Lise Roy, sister Suzanne Pitre and infant sister Anne Marie.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday August 29th at 11 a.m. Donations in memory of Jocelyne may be made to the Canadian Cancer society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
