On March 4, 2024, Grace Helen Blackmore (Ward) transitioned from her earthly home and entered her heavenly home, forever to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Grace was born on in 1936, in Middle River, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Duncan & Evelyn Ward (Jeffers). She will be greatly missed by her loving & caring husband of 67 years, Gary Blackmore, daughters, Bonnie Burt (Lindsey), Sandra Bartlett (Frank), Susan Blackmore-Roy (Claude), Lisa McLean (Paul), and son, Darren Blackmore, brother, David Ward (Elizabeth), grandchildren, Travis Blackmore, Jordon and Jared Burt, Jesse Bartlett, Amber Wade, Aaron McLean and Tara McQuade, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Grace was predeceased by her son, David Blackmore (Dawn), brothers, Gordon Ward (Ann), Harper Ward (Mary), sister, Violet Sergeant (Winston) and great-granddaughter, Ada.
Grace loved family and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved fun and was always in for a great laugh. Playing guitar and singing was one of Grace's favourite passions & many of her family play guitar today because of Grace being such a patient and willing instructor.
Not only did a cup of tea and a sweet bread make a great ending to every meal, a Pepsi and a Coffee Crisp bar was a great ending to any day!
One of Grace's greatest qualities was her unwavering love for Jesus. Her faith was clearly seen in her daily life. She loved to pray for others and read her Bible. Sharing her faith with others was important to Grace, leading many to accept Christ, as their Saviour, and embrace their journey of faith. Bathurst Christian Fellowship was where Grace worshiped, and you were sure to find her there each Sunday.
"Gracie", as called by many who love her, will be always loved, held close to our hearts, and never forgotten.
There will be no visitation. A private family burial will take place on a later date.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So, encourage each other with these words.
Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
