Bathurst - Albert Melanson, 76, of King Ave., Bathurst, died Sunday (April 2, 2006) at the Bathurst Regional Hospital Center after a brief illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Eldon and Helen (Bertin) Melanson. He was an employee for 42 years of the former Stone Consolidated Paper Mill as a BCM operator. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Eleanor (Doucet) Melanson, in 1996. He is survived by: 4 daughters: Donna White (Bruce), Sharon Smith (Gary), Brenda Payne (Rick), all of Bathurst Joyce Matheson (Alec) of Kitchener, ON Four sisters: Marion Kerr (Wesley), Isabel Frigault of Bathurst Theresa DeGrace (Kenneth), of St. Anne's Olga Calnan (Greg) of North Tetagouche, NB Two brothers: Franklin Melanson and Alfred Melanson (Judy) both of Bathurst Six grandchildren; Bradley, Stacy, Kayla, Sarah, Lindsay, Dylan, four great-grandchildren; Megan, Jordan, Cameron and Cole. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Edward and two sisters, Causetta and Jeannette. The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Elhatton Funeral Home, (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (April 5, 2006) at 11:00 a.m. from St. Theresa Church, Bathurst. Visitation are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral. Burial will be in the parish cemetery later in the spring.
