It is with great sadness that the family of Clarence Young, of Franklin Ave., Bathurst, announces his passing on Monday, November 18, at the age of 71. He passed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital with his family by his side.
Born in Bathurst, he was the cherished son of the late Ora and Alfreda (Glazier) Young.
Clarence was a devoted husband to Lee-Anne Young. Together, they raised a loving family including their three children: Jason (Shelley), Matthew (Kikue), and Amy Lee (Fabrice). A proud and loving grandfather, Clarence leaves behind five grandchildren whom he adored: Tanner James, Ethan Jason, Lucy Ann, Mina Lee, and Robin Leonard.
He is also survived by five brothers: Edward (Della), Ivan (Louise), Stephen, Ralph and Thomas (Lynn), and two sisters: Louise (Oscar) and Jeannie (Theo); many nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Clarence enjoyed a long career at Brunswick Mining as an industrial mechanic and made many cherished friendships.
Clarence was a soft-spoken, kind, and giving man who was best known for his exceptional cooking skills. His delicious pies, with their perfectly crafted crusts, were a favorite among friends and family. In his leisure time, Clarence enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing cards.
He was generous with his time and always willing to lend a helping hand. Clarence had a passion for problem-solving and loved tackling projects that challenged his skills.
In honour of his wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. We will be gathering to celebrate his life at Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am on Friday, November 22.
In Clarence’s honour, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
