It is with great sadness that the family of Cletus Raymond Doucet announce his passing on December 10, 2024 at Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, NB.

Cletus was born in 1943 to the late Raymond and Mary (DeGrace) Doucet.

Cletus was a loving husband to Anne Marie (Bresnahan) for 55 years, devoted father to Sean (Charline) Dieppe, NB, Ryan (Meaghan) Charlottetown, PEI and Mary Jo Janzen (Jakob), Etobicoke, ON and the best ‘Papa’ to his seven grandchildren, Chloe, Nellie, Ella, Emmet, Will, Ray and Goldie.

He is survived by his brothers, Gerard (Jackie), Ron (Paula), Alvin (Charline) and David. His sisters, Etta McManus (Ray) and Alice Arbour. Sisters-in-law, Maureen Barnett (Rick Budd) and Eileen White (George Thornhill). Brothers-in-law, Daniel Bresnahan (Shirley) and Emmet Bresnahan (Donna) and many nieces and nephews in the Doucet and Bresnahan families.

He was predeceased by his brother Howard and sisters Grace and Elsie. Brothers-in-law Bernie Arbour, Donald Kane, Robert Fournier and sisters-in-law Peggy Doucet Melanson and Dorine Doucet.

A native of Bathurst, Cletus worked at Eddy Hardware, Danny’s Limited and Campbells Soup Company (Moncton); however most remember him from Doucet’s Landscaping where he joined his brothers in 1975, retiring after 44 years in 2019. He loved his time at ‘Doucet’s’ – a place that was as much a community hub as it was a business.

Cletus was an active member of that Bathurst Rotary Club and a Paul Harris recipient in 2015. He was also a member of the Irish Cultural Society, Gowan Brae Golf Club, Holy Family Parish and a former school board trustee and minor hockey and baseball coach. Cletus will be remembered for his strong faith, kindness, and his willingness to help others in any capacity.
