It is with great sadness, that we, the family announce the passing of Mrs. Léona Bourque, wife of Adrien (Buddy)Bourque of Bathurst which occurred on Friday, December 13th, 2024, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 86.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Boucher and the late Angelina (Doucet) Boucher. Besides her loving husband of 64 years of marriage, she is survived by her son, André (Yvonne) Bourque of Fort McMurray, Alberta and her daughter, Monique (Daniel) L’Anglais of Robertville.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Emma, Mélanie, Mathieu and Ashley, a brother-in-law, Rhéal (Phyllis) and a sister-in-law, Irène Pitre and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was the last living member of her immediate family. Léona worked for Jamieson Save Ease in East Bathurst for many years. Besides her parents, she in now resting with her brothers and sisters: Omer, Aurel, Roger, gros Ralph, Gladys, Odis, Yvette, Lionel, Arthur, Mathilda, Evangéline, Delphis, Douglas, Clifford and Ti-Ralph.

The family would like to express its most sincere thanks to the devoted staff (3B) of La Brise de L’Oasis for their compassionate care.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral at a date to be announced.
