Barry Gammon, born in 1949, in Bathurst, NB, Canada, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024 (aged 75), in the same town he called home throughout his life.
He was the son of the late Harry Gammon and the late Kathleen Gammon (Vienneau).
Professionally, he was a dedicated industrial mechanic, known for his craftsmanship and expertise, skills he also used in his spare time where he enjoyed fixing antique clocks and building grandfather clocks, a true testament to his love for woodwork.
Barry was not just defined by his profession; he was a man of many passions. He enjoyed hunting and cherished trips to his beloved beach cottage in the summer, and the camp in the fall, where he made countless memories with family and friends. Seafood, especially lobster, delighted his palate, and he found joy in listening to the golden oldies that filled his home with warmth and nostalgia.
Above all, Barry loved spending time with his family, particularly his wife, Mary Jane Gammon, and their daughter, Rebecca Gammon, who was his proudest accomplishment. He was known for his quick wit, and the ability to engage anyone in a good chat or share a delightful story. His kindness and willingness to help those in need left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Barry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane of Bathurst. His cherished daughter, Rebecca and his son-in-law, Nick who reside in Ontario. His three siblings; Gregory Gammon (late Anne-Marie), Lori Scott (Jeff) both of Bathurst, and Danny Gammon (Heather) of Ontario.
He will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2p.m. on Friday, January 3rd, 2025, from Sacred Heart Cathedral. Donations in memory of Barry may be made to the Bathurst S.P.C.A.
